DRESS CODE
We promote having a dress code (especially in ballet) so all students feel the same and students aren’t distracted by what they are wearing. It is VERY IMPORTANT that the students adhere to this for the structure of the program we want to create. Girls are required to wear their hair up and out of their face for every style of dance. No jeans please!
BALLET: Girls are required to wear pink ballet shoes, pink tights, a leotard of their choosing and hair in a bun. If your dancer has short hair, you may just use clips to keep off their face. Our ballet dress code is strongly enforced! No Tutu’s please!
We STRONGLY advise against Walmart/Target ballet shoes with white bottoms because children slip very easily!
Genuine ballet shoes are HIGHLY recommended!
JAZZ: TAN jazz shoes and anything the student can move in! We highly recommend a leotard and tights or a tight fitting tank top and shorts or leggings (unless your dancer is in a ballet class).
TAP: TAN or BLACK tap shoes and anything the student can move in! We recommend a leotard and tights or a tight fitting tank top and shorts or leggings (unless your dancer is in a ballet class).
HIP HOP: Any kind of sneaker. NO flip flops or Crocs! Your dancer can wear anything that is easy for them to move in!
ACRO: Bare feet. We recommend a leotard or a tight fitting tank top and shorts or leggings (unless your dancer is in a ballet class on the same day). If so, we suggest wearing transitional tights (they cover the foot while in ballet/jazz shoes but then can roll off for acro).
For your convenience, we sell ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical shoes as well as footed and transitional tights, right at the studio. Please contact admin@rennerdance to schedule a time to have your dancer fitted.
